Background
The European Music Hour has been broadcasting in Reno, Nevada since early 2002 as a project of High Sierra Community Radio, The Media Center and SNCAT (Sierra Nevada Cable Access Television) playing regularly on the regional cable system, with other radio shows.

Chuck, the producer of the European Music Hour plays orchestras, waltzes, choirs, yodels and marches... back to back... and is a show where announcing occurs over the music only three times.  The music spans several centuries and contains elements restored from many sources, including some vintage recordings.

What started out as a hobby has turned into an adventure of finding and collecting this fantastic music from all around Europe and sharing it with Americans of many ethnicities.  The celebration of diversity in the first ten shows reflect the many cultures, customs and folkways of Europe and European American ancestors.

The European Music Hour now can provide support and additional information via our new website here at www.europeanmusichour.com and www.europeanmusichour.org and continue to advertise the show to more non profit users.  This support website aims to encourage the preservation, education, production and support of traditional and rare music, networking worldwide those artists, curators and fans of folk music.

Each show is available in a MP3 file format easily converted for CD-AUDIO with programs like Nero and other utilities, or can be broadcast directly on your public access station from the MP3 file.  Full instructions and technical details are contained within the readme.txt file within the distribution medium.  All material is strictly for all public access, fair use only.

Thank you for your interest in the European Music Hour!
